Set at the threshold of Riga’s Skanste district, VERDE is described as a contemporary gateway to a part of the city still in transformation. Its architecture grows from the geometry of Skanstes Street, the curve of the road shaping the building volumes, while the upper floors shift above a more grounded base and create a sense of movement within the composition.
At the centre of the complex, architecture opens towards landscape. A green courtyard, shared lobby spaces, restaurant, mini-library and a 600 m² landscaped roof terrace extend the workplace beyond the office itself, creating places for meeting, pause and exchange. Mature planting, biodiversity initiatives and beehives introduce another layer to the project, allowing nature to become part of the everyday experience of the building.
VERDE brings together architecture, landscape and technology within a carefully considered working environment. Its BREEAM Excellent certification, energy-efficient systems and extensive integration of greenery reflect an approach where sustainability is not treated as an addition, but as part of the architecture from the beginning.
Designed by ARHIS Arhitekti in collaboration with AROUND Architecture Studio and landscape architects ZAĻĀ, VERDE becomes more than an office complex… it forms a new urban edge for Skanste and a connection between the changing district and the wider city.
